Herston Quarter is a mixed use heritage development at the heart of one of Brisbane’s largest health precincts.

As part of the Public Art Program the strategy for Herston Quarter involved a precinct-wide collection of public artworks that promote well being, provide intellectual stimulation and encourage mindfulness.

Working in collaboration with the project team, Outside Assembly were engaged to realise the vision of Belinda Smith’s artwork - Blue Tribute. The artworks are a three part series which take people on a journey through the nursing history on the site. Employing the simple motif of a heart, the artworks acknowledge the commitment, care and friendship of the nursing profession and its history within the heritage buildings of Herston Quarter where nurses once lived and worked.
